What you have banked — points and miles you already hold

Optional. No card issuer hands these over automatically, so you have to check each account and type them in. The routing answer works without it; this values what is already sitting there.

What a point is worth to you — change our figures for yours

A point is only worth what you get for it. These are our figures — change any of them and every recommendation follows yours instead.

How we set these.
What are these points, in plain English?

Points you can move between airlines and hotels are worth more than miles locked to one airline. That is the whole reason the numbers above differ.

Annual fee ROI

Points earned versus fee paid. Credits and perks aren't counted, so read this as the floor.

What this version does and doesn't do

  • Manual entry only — we never connect to your bank or ask for credentials.
  • Your data stays in this browser. Clearing browser data deletes it permanently.
  • No accounts, so nothing syncs between your phone and laptop.
  • Deal alerts are hand-curated samples, not live availability.
  • SMS alerts are coming, not built.
  • Card terms change often. Verify rates and fees with the issuer before acting.

Optimize for

Delta Medallion goal-seek

Work backwards from the tier you want. Delta Medallion and American AAdvantage are modelled; United's PQP, Alaska and JetBlue work differently and are not.

How you actually run your cards. Most people do not put a whole category on one card. They fill a status card until the year is won, then move the rest. And a business owner keeps business spend on business cards whatever the points say. Set both here and every recommendation follows them.

Processing fees

Some bills charge a percentage to pay by card — rent, tuition, tax payments and HOA dues are the usual ones. Set the fee per category and every figure above is reported net of it. If the fee is a deductible business expense, enter your marginal rate and the after-tax cost is used instead.

Status & Utilization

Elite progress and credit health.

Elite status progress

Beyond Diamond Choice Benefits

Delta gives Diamonds one extra Choice Benefit at each of $50K, $75K and $100K total MQDs. It publishes no dollar value for any of them. Put your own numbers on them so the status trade-off has a figure attached instead of a milestone.

The $150,000 accelerator — Reserve Business only. Once you pass $150,000 in calendar-year spend on the Delta Reserve Business, earning rises from 1x to 1.5x on everything after that. Amex and Delta document this on the business card only; the personal Delta Reserve earns 3x on Delta and 1x on everything else with no spend tier. The router applies it to the business card alone.

Credit utilization

Under 30% per card is the usual guidance; under 10% is better. Charge cards with no preset limit can be left blank.

Business cards from Amex and Chase generally do not report to your personal credit, so they usually do not affect your personal utilization. Using a card for business does not make it a business card. A personal card put on business spend still reports to you personally.

Deal Alerts

Premium-cabin award space worth acting on.

This page is not live yet. Everything below is a hand-made example showing what an alert will look like. Nothing here is real award space, nothing is being watched for you, and no message will be sent. Setting your preferences now costs nothing and saves doing it later — but do not sit waiting for an alert, because there is nothing behind it yet.

How alerts will arrive

✈ Delta One ATL→LHR — 50,000 pts via Virgin Atlantic, 2 seats. Expires in 6h 12m. Reply YES to approve.

Benefits that need this card to pay

Some co-brand benefits only apply when that card buys the ticket. They are worth nothing if you route the purchase elsewhere for points, so the router counts them — but only once you say what they are worth to you.

Coverage gaps

Categories your current cards under-earn on, ranked by what the fix is worth.

How we rank. By value to you first. An affiliate link gets attached afterward only if one exists. A card that earns us nothing outranks one that pays us whenever it's the better card, and the math sits on every recommendation so you can check it.

Your cards

Swap replaces a card and carries everything with it — routing, limit, balance, open date, credits and imported purchases.

Import Statements

Drop your Spending Report — the PDF with the pie chart and category percentages. On Amex it is under Statements & Activity; on Chase it is the Spending Summary. A CSV or QFX export works too. Everything is read in this browser — no file is uploaded, nothing leaves your machine. A PDF fills in the summary form for you to check; a CSV gives merchant-level detail and the routing reconciliation.

What this answers. The router tells you which card you should use. Your statement says which you did. The gap between those two, in dollars, is the only number here you cannot get any other way.

or drop files here

Or enter a spending summary

Amex and Chase both publish a Spending Report with category totals. That is far less invasive than a transaction file — it names no doctors, no schools, no individual purchases — and it is enough to route your spend. Enter the totals here and the monthly figures are worked out from the period.

Profile backup & transfer

Everything lives in this browser only. Export to keep a copy or move machines; import to restore one. Import replaces your wallet, spending rows, valuations, balances and merchant rules.

Data provenance

Which card terms have been checked against issuer-published sources, and which were inherited from an earlier build. Nothing is treated as correct just because it has been in the file a while.

Tools

Calculations that don't exist anywhere else.

Processing-fee break-even

Paying a fee to put spend on a card — rent, tuition, a tax bill. Does the value earned beat the fee?

Why this matters. Most people assume any points beat no points. They don't. A 2.9% fee to earn 1x at 1.2¢ loses 1.7¢ on every dollar. The exception is status: if the spend is buying elite tier rather than points, judge it on the MQD line instead.

How we make money

We may earn a commission when you're approved for a card through our link — the amount is shown on every recommendation. Rankings are set by value to you, then a link is attached if one exists. Use the "no commission" filter in Smart Wallet to see for yourself: the ordering doesn't change.

This one cannot be undone.

Delete everything clears this browser immediately. We hold no copy — there is nothing on our side to delete.

Hear when the next tiers open

An email when something new ships. Nothing else, and you can leave at any time.
